Injection Mold Acceptance Criteria: Ensuring Trouble-Free Production from Day One

Injection Mold Acceptance Criteria
The most expensive mold is not the one with the highest price tag—it’s the one that arrives at your factory and fails to run. At CNMOULDING, we believe that mold acceptance is more than a final check; it is a critical engineering gate that ensures your investment translates into consistent, high-yield production.
Our Shanghai facility follows a rigorous 5-stage acceptance protocol designed to solve common manufacturing headaches before the mold ever leaves our floor.
1. Zero-Leakage Cooling System Verification
The Problem: Water leaks are the #1 cause of unplanned downtime. Minor leaks during shipping or high-pressure production can corrode mold bases and ruin electronic sensors.
Our Engineering Solution:
8-Bar Pressure Test: Every mold undergoes a static pressure test at 8 bars for at least 10 minutes. We ensure zero pressure drop across all circuits.
Flow Balance Check: We verify that each cooling channel has an unobstructed flow, preventing “hot spots” that lead to part warpage.
Identification: All water inlets and outlets are clearly engraved with “IN” and “OUT” tags to prevent setup errors at your facility.
2. Ejection & Mechanical Reliability (The “Dry Run”)
The Problem: Ejector pins that “seize” or slide components that gall can lead to catastrophic tool damage. Many molds work fine when lubricated but fail once the grease wears thin.
Our Engineering Solution:
100-Cycle Dry Run: We perform a high-speed dry run of the ejection and reset system without external lubrication to ensure precision fitment and smooth movement.
Forced Reset Protection: For molds with complex sliders or lifters, we install limit switches and forced return mechanisms to prevent the mold from closing if the ejection plate hasn’t fully retracted.
3. Class A Surface & Parting Line Integrity
The Problem: Excessive flash or visible parting lines require secondary manual trimming, which slashes your profit margins.
Our Engineering Solution:
Blue Lead Fitting: Our toolmakers use blue lead (Spotting) to verify that the parting line seal is over 90% across the entire cavity surface.
Flash-Free Tolerance: We fit mold inserts to a tolerance of ±0.005mm, ensuring that even high-flow resins like PPSU or PP won’t create flash under high injection pressures.
4. Scientific Molding Data & Process Repeatability
The Problem: The “Golden Sample” looks great, but your technicians can’t replicate the results because the mold maker didn’t provide the actual processing window.
Our Engineering Solution:
Scientific Molding Report: We provide a comprehensive T1/T2 report including viscosity curves, cavity pressure data, and the specific “Process Window” for your material.
Cycle Time Guarantee: We verify that the mold achieves the quoted cycle time under production conditions, ensuring your ROI calculations remain accurate.
5. The “CNMOULDING” Handover Package
A mold is only as good as its documentation. When you approve a mold from our Shanghai factory, you receive a complete digital and physical asset package:
| Category | Included Deliverables | Why it matters? |
| Design | Final 2D/3D CAD (STEP, DWG) | For future mold repairs or modifications. |
| Technical | Steel certificates & Heat-treat reports | Ensures you got the high-grade steel you paid for. |
| Maintenance | Wear parts list & Maintenance manual | Extends the life of the tool to 1M+ cycles. |
| Spares | Spare ejector pins, springs, and O-rings | Eliminates downtime for common wear-and-tear. |
